For beginners, affiliate marketers have totally no loyalty to any product. The product is a mere means to an end. So in most cases, the marketer doesn’t even check out the product to see if it’s any good to the end user. He is only interested in one thing, how much he’s going to earn from the affiliate business program. The product could be the worst piece of junk in the whole world but that doesn’t matter to him as long as it brings in some cool cash at the end.
Secondly, affiliate marketers try to market several different products at the same time hoping that at least one will work and generate income. The issue with this is, when you split up your efforts, you can’t possibly do justice to any of your product but there is a bigger setback than that. When your visitors see you promoting everything from body cream to electrical gadget, they begin to wonder if you’re really recommending products that are good or just out to make some quick money. People are not dumb, how can one individual be so conversant about all these products?
Even apart from the mentality aspect, there is the promotional aspect of it. A lot of affiliate marketers use promotional strategy that would make a sailor blush. I don’t want to go into any of this because I don’t want to give anybody ANY ideas but the truth is some of the stuff these folks are pulling is outright unlawful and unethical. And then the complaints come in and the FTC has to step in and clean up the mess this people have created. It’s not a pretty picture at all.
